SensAtional new MSWA event

26 November 2019

MSWA has opened the doors to a new event, The SensAtion Gallery, an interactive multi-sensory art gallery which is currently being held at the Queens Riverside Precinct.

This family-friendly exhibition will challenge the five senses, and the brain, through 20 art activations designed by talented young Western Australian artists to highlight the varying affects neurological conditions have on the senses.

Indigenous illustrator and 2018 young person of the year Kambarni (Kam) is among the local artists and his piece, MSunderstood, explores the puzzle of how our senses interact, and the effect Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions may have on them.

Other local talent involved with the event are MKR favourite Jordan Bruno, YouTube stars Kim Behets and Ana Cadence, plus major influencers Zak Hasleby and Jamey-Lee Franz.

MSWA Events Manager Gail Szabo said this event is different to MSWA’s usual sporting fundraising events but hopes it will attract attention, whether it’s from our usual supporters, or a new crowd.

“This is a unique event and is a new and different way of creating awareness around neurological conditions by encouraging people to experience the interactive display for themselves,” said Gail.

“We guarantee each activation will get you that ‘gram-worthy’ shot. We have ring lights set up in each room to ensure you get that ‘insta-perfect’ photo.”

From yoga to slime and Lego, and even chocolate tasting, there really is something for everyone, with some special events just for kids.

Take a look at our SensAtion events calendar for a whole list of workshops – we have three events coming up for the end of November, and plenty more next month until we close our doors on 23 December.
