Supported funded programs

MSWA receives two types of program funding - individual funding and block funding.

Individual funding

Western Australians living with a neurological condition can come to MSWA for the provision of services and support through the following two programs:

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

NDIS is a federally-funded scheme, providing funding for supports and services to Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability.

NDIS replaced previous state-based arrangements including WA Department of Communities Disability Services funding and WANDIS.

MSWA is a registered NDIS provider, offering support and services to Western Australians aged under 65 and living with a neurological condition.

Home Care Packages (HCP)

Home Care Packages enable individuals aged over 65 to care for themselves independently while ageing comfortably at home. Home care funding is consumer-directed, which means you can choose the provider you want and the care you need to continue a vibrant, independent life in your home.

MSWA is a registered HCP provider, offering support and services to Western Australians aged over 65 and living with a neurological condition.

Block funding

As an approved service provider, MSWA receives block funding through government schemes. This funding supports the provision of high-quality services for people living with neurological conditions.

In Western Australia, these programs are managed by Disability Services, which is part of the WA Department of Communities. The funding provided can vary each year and may offer access to services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, counselling and residential respite. Eligibility criteria apply to these programs.

Block funding is distinct from the funding available for individuals through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Home Care Packages (HCP).
