If you’re caring for someone living with a neurological condition, you may occasionally feel the need for a break.
If you’re being cared for, you may want your carer to take some time off to rest and recharge, while you have a break from your normal routine.
MSWA offers two purpose-built, accessible respite homes, providing 24/7 supports, where you can take a break safely and comfortably.
Our respite homes, located in City Beach and Treendale (Australind), are built to meet the needs of people living with neurological conditions, including those with high-care needs. They are a ‘home-away-from-home’, comfortably appointed with on-site 24/7 care and support and home-cooked meals.
MSWA trained care support workers staff our respite homes and are experienced in supporting people living with neurological conditions.
Most Customers accessing our respite homes will stay for one or two weeks, or longer depending on needs. Funding to cover your stay may be available through the Commonwealth Carer Respite Program or through your Department of Communities - Disability Services or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) individual package. Self-funded respite is also available.
