Bunbury Swim returns with a splash!
On Saturday, 13 September, the MSWA Bunbury Swim made its long-awaited return after a nine-year break. The event once again brought the community together at the South West Sports Centre for a day filled with energy, teamwork and raising money for West Aussies living with neurological conditions.
Over the course of the seven-hour relay, 57 incredible participants took to the pool, swimming a combined 2,277 laps, an outstanding achievement that truly reflects the dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved.
Together, our swimmers, donors and supporters raised a remarkable $16,725 for MSWA. These funds will help provide essential services and support to people living with neurological conditions from therapy, equipment to research and community support programs.
A huge thank you goes out to our proud community partners – Southern Ports, Retravision and Roof West, for their generous backing of this event. Their ongoing commitment to local causes plays an essential role in bringing events like the Bunbury Swim to life.
We also want to celebrate some standout efforts from the day:
• Highest fundraisers: Leo and Ella Nidd, who tied for first place by raising an impressive $1,220 each!
• Highest fundraising team: Shanae’s Shufflers, who made waves with a total of $5,100 raised.
• Most laps swum: Geographe Bay Swim Club, completing a phenomenal 494 laps as a team!
A heartfelt thank you to every swimmer who took part, as well as the spectators, families and volunteers who made the day such a success. Your enthusiasm and generosity created an atmosphere full of excitement, encouragement and community spirit.
The return of the MSWA Bunbury Swim has reminded all of us, the power of coming together for a great cause. If you would like to get involved, make sure to mark your calendars for the MSWA Albany Swim on the 14 March 2026 - another great opportunity to get together and raise money for West Aussies living with neurological conditions.
