What are the steps to become an MSWA Client?
To ensure MSWA is fully equipped to support your condition, we ask you to provide a letter of diagnosis from your General Practitioner or Neurologist which is less than 12 months old. You can see the list of neurological conditions we support here.
We can then begin the process of welcoming you into our MSWA community by registering you as a Client.
How do I apply for funding?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a Government scheme which aims to connect Australians with disability to services in the community. All Australian governments are involved in decisions relating to the scheme’s policy, funding and governance.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) administers the scheme, which is governed by the NDIA Board.

How can MSWA help me apply for funding through the NDIS?
While unfortunately MSWA cannot submit a funding application on your behalf, once you have been onboarded as an MSWA Client, our friendly team can talk you through the application process. This includes:
- Connecting you with your local National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Local Area Coordinator (if eligible). Your Local Area Coordinator will be able to assist you in navigating the NDIS application process, providing support from the initial planning stage until you receive your finalised plan. During the planning phase, your specific needs and goals will be assessed to determine the support services you require.
- MSWA can arrange an eligibility report, which can be completed over the phone with one of our Occupational Therapists, as evidence to help support your application.

What support can MSWA provide me while I wait for funding?
Funding applications, through both the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care, can take some time to be approved and delivered. MSWA appreciates this can be a long time to wait.
If you are a new Client, MSWA may be able to assist you with limited complimentary Allied Health and Nursing Services in the meantime. These may include:
- Wellbeing and resiliency
- Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology (neuro gym or hydrotherapy)
- Massage
- Occupational Therapy consultation (sleep health or fatigue management)
- Speech Therapy
- Dietetics
You may also have access to our free Nursing Support Line. This is available Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm.
