The Life not Limits Grant in memory of Ros Harman provides monetary support to help you turn your aspirations into action. This Grant is designed for those who are passionate about pursuing their goals – whether they’re just beginning their journey or have been following their passion for awhile.

In memory of Ros Harman
A passionate writer, Chair of the MSWA Board and a resilient advocate, Ros was the living embodiment of MSWA’s purpose: to empower people with neurological conditions to live their best lives.
Diagnosed with MS at 26 and MND in her later years, Ros wasn't one to sit back and let her diagnosis define her. She faced the many challenges that came with her condition with heart, humour and infectious positivity. Ros was an inspiration to our neuro community. Ros passed away in 2025 at 63 years old.
I like to imagine a world that was designed with more thought for people with disability - there would be no barriers to stop anyone from doing whatever they wanted or needed to live a fulfilling life.

Who is eligible for the Grant?
To be eligible for the Grant, applicants must:
- Be an active MSWA or MS Society SA & NT Client living with a neurological condition. An active Client is defined by anyone who currently receives services or engages with a facilitated program by MSWA or MS Society SA & NT.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Reside in Western Australia, South Australia or Northern Territory.
- Propose a project, activity, or initiative that supports personal interests, goals, or aspirations – aligned with the theme Life, Not Limits
What kind of work is not eligible for this Grant?
MSWA will not award grants for disability support services or activities that should be funded by a disability support provider or the government.
How do I apply?
All application forms must be submitted either online through the MSWA website www.mswa.org.au or by sending a completed printed form via email to [email protected]. Alternatively, printed forms may be delivered in person to the reception desk at any of the following Services Centres.

What happens after I submit my application?
Applicants will receive an email confirming their submission. All Application outcomes will be announced in January 2027.
How much money can I apply for?
There are three Grant amounts you can apply for:
- $1,000
- $2,500
- $5,000
Applicants must nominate one of the above grant amounts in their application, based on the scope and scale of their proposed project.
Partial funding may be awarded at the discretion of the selection panel.
How are applications assessed?
Applications are assessed by a selection panel of MSWA staff and members of the Client Committee.
What are the key dates for this Grant?
Applications open: 5 October 2026
Applications close: 13 November 2026
Grant recipients announced: January 2027
Can I submit multiple submissions?
Certainly! You may submit multiple applications, but only one application per category. Each project may be submitted under one category only.
What if my submission isn't successful?
We understand that not being selected can be disappointing, as only a limited number of Life not Limits Grants are available.
We welcome you to submit again for our next round.
