MSWA and State Buildings team up to amplify impact

MSWA is proud to announce the signing of our first official partnership with State Buildings in May, a significant milestone for our respective organisations, driven by a shared goal to positively impact the WA community.

The new partnership leverages our mutual strengths to develop positive initiatives that will benefit MSWA Clients including, a platform to share their stories through COMO Conversations events, corporate volunteering opportunities and support for MSWA’s lottery, freeing up additional funds to be directly invested in research and support for people living with neurological conditions.

To celebrate this partnership, Clients and supporters of MSWA can access an exclusive code to receive 20 per cent off the best available rate on all rooms and suites at COMO The Treasury, located in the State Buildings. Available for stays from now until 31 May 2025. Simply quote the code ‘MSWA’ when prompted. Book your stay now.

As part of State Buildings’ commitment to foster an inclusive community, the hotel offers fully accessible heritage rooms, to ensure guests with additional physical needs can relax and unwind in style.

MSWA Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships Angela Thisainayagan said the partnership would bring together expertise, networks and resources to create initiatives that foster change.

“We are proud to work in partnership with the State Buildings team to actively pursue our shared goals and to make a positive social impact for our community,” she said.

This partnership will enable MSWA to direct more resources towards fulfilling our purpose of supporting West Australians living with neurological conditions, as we work together to build more inclusive, compassionate and accessible communities.

The agreement follows a collaboration for the 2024 Mega Home Lottery, in which COMO The Treasury finished the Marmion Grand Prize home with the luxury touches of their renowned hotel rooms. Located at Perth’s Point Zero – the marker from which all distances to Perth are measured – the State Buildings has been the heartbeat of the city since 1875 and – continues to be a meeting place to bring community together.

Over its 140-year history, the former government building once housed the State Treasury, Immigration Officers, a Police Court and Perth’s original general Post Office (just to name a few) but has been reinvigorated as a vibrant hub of retail and dining options, including restaurants Wildflower, POST, Cape Arid Rooms, Petition and Long Chim. State Buildings General Manager Jesse Tibert was proud to partner with a like-minded organisation and was eager to see what could be achieved over the two-year partnership.

“Both MSWA and State Buildings are aligned in our commitment to supporting the West Australian community and by working together our impact can be amplified,” Mr Tibert said.

We look forward to delivering on a number of exciting initiatives and connecting with the neurological community to gain understanding and insight as we work to shape a better community for all.
