Our research commitment
Research in focus
MSWA is proud to announce a $5 million commitment to neurological research in the 2025/2026 financial year.
This includes our continued investment of the groundbreaking PLATYPUS clinical trial, of which MSWA is the leading funder.
This investment is only possible thanks to the generosity of West Aussies and the success of our fundraising initiatives and lotteries.
At MSWA, we are committed to driving meaningful improvements in the lives of our Clients and the wider neuro community, and aim to achieve this by investing in local, national, and international research.
In recent years, our commitment to research has helped deepen understanding of MS and other neurological conditions – paving the way for better treatments, care, and outcomes, and bringing hope to people living with neurological conditions.
Our research partners
MS Australia
MSWA continues its strong partnership with our national body, MS Australia. In FY25/26, MS Australia will be distributing key MS funds to our WA based researchers on our behalf through their well-established grants panel to ensure proper governance and placement for impact.
International Research
The Progressive MS Alliance, Multiple Sclerosis International Federation
The International Progressive MS Alliance is an unprecedented global collaboration of MS organisations, researchers, clinicians, pharmaceutical companies, and people with progressive MS, transforming the landscape of MS.
