Running Beyond Limits: Local mates take on 400km challenge for MSWA

This August, a group of mates from a local running club in Perth are taking on their biggest challenge yet—running over 400 kilometres from Osborne Park to Bluff Knoll in just five days to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The event called Beyond Limits: 400km for MS, is not just about distance; it’s deeply personal. West Australian runner Ryan Fazzalari and his team will each run the entire distance—no relays, no breaks. Their goal is to raise $10,000 for MSWA.
For Ryan, the challenge hits close to home. His mum, Joanna, was diagnosed with MS at the age of 34. Now 55, she continues to face the disease with remarkable strength and courage.
“I’ve seen how hard it is,” Ryan said.
“But my mum never gives up. That’s what inspires me to keep going.”
The team knows that while they have the privilege of moving freely and pushing their limits, many people with MS face far greater daily battles. Every step—every blister, cramp, and moment of doubt—is dedicated to those living with MS.
The challenge doesn’t end when they reach Bluff Knoll—on the sixth day, the runners will take on one final push by climbing the peak itself.
The Team will document their journey on Instagram at @desires.movement, where they’ll post updates and videos.
“We’re not professional athletes—we’re just everyday people pushing beyond our limits for a cause that truly matters,” Ryan said. “If five days of pain can help people living with MS every day, then it’s all worth it.”
Help the team turn pain into purpose and make a difference.
