A taste of cruise life
MSWA Clients Christine, Susan, and Ann embarked on an exciting 10-night cruise along the Kimberley Coast, sharing how they enjoyed their cruise life to the fullest in a safe and accessible way.
We just returned home from the most amazing cruise aboard the Coral Princess.
We were scheduled to depart from Fremantle Port on 5 September but due to bad weather, we had to stay overnight. The delay didn't bother us though, as we used that time to explore the ship!
Our cruise was booked last year, and we were lucky to have secured the last accessible cabin. Inside, there was a spacious stateroom with three single beds, a large accessible bathroom, and plenty of storage, including a pull-down clothes rail in the wardrobe.
Using our handy medallion connected to the Princess App made the journey worry-free. It was so easy to use! As soon as we approached our room, the door unlocked automatically. We could book any excursions, dining, or massages at the Lotus Spa, and much more. It also allowed us to track our expenses during the cruise and find each other onboard.
Our first stop onboard the ship was the International Café for some refreshments. The staff were incredibly friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. They helped plate our meals and even made cups of tea for us. All three of us had our Cruise Life t-shirts on, and we received lots of comments about them! A lovely lady and her mum even offered to take our picture. They were from Treendale, where there happens to be MSWA Respite Centre. We had a great chat and crossed paths with them nearly every day.
The ship had 15 decks and plenty of activities for all ages including music quizzes, games, art auctions, cocktail-making, dance lessons, outdoor movies, jewellery auctions with prizes, theatre productions - it was spectacular! There were also amenities like a casino, bars, restaurants, pool, gym, spa, and more.
We even booked into the Provence dining room for a wonderful three-course meal. We shared a table with a lovely couple, Peter and Mirren from Melbourne. Peter told us amazing stories from his diving adventures. The staff, Ashley and Dion, kept us entertained and were beyond accommodating. The food was exceptional, and the vegan menu was to die for!
Due to the delay on the first day, we had to skip Exmouth and went straight to Broome, which was stunning and very warm. There were many activities for those going ashore, and some visited Kuri Bay, a vibrant orange landscape accessible only by ship or seaplane.
Our favourite stop was Prince Frederick Sound. It was breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil, with small islands dotting the jewel-blue waters. The landscape was vast and amazing. Sitting on the deck and taking in the view was an absolute treat. We even spotted some whales and other marine life along the way. Our next stop was Geraldton before ending the trip at Fremantle.
This cruise gave us so many beautiful memories, laughs, and great friends along the way. We are truly blessed to have the Western Australian coastline with beautiful blue waters. The Coral Princess and its staff didn’t disappoint and the service was truly first class!
We’ve already booked our next adventure for 2026 aboard the Crown Princess. We’ll be visiting Sydney, Hobart, Adelaide, Melbourne, Albany, Margaret River, and finally Fremantle.
We first met at the Beechboro Outreach and have been friends ever since. We’re excited for more cruises and to continue living our best lives together!
