2025 MS Readathon: WA schools led the way!

The MS Readathon just wrapped up its 47th year and WA schools are turning pages and turning heads! This much-loved August tradition inspires kids across Australia to read while raising funds for people living with MS. And this year, two WA schools made the national top ten!

Wembley Primary School has done it again, topping the country for the third time with a phenomenal $13,153 raised. A special shoutout to Year Two legend Leo, who raised an incredible $4,000, making him the highest individual fundraiser in Australia! Beenyup Primary School also made WA proud, landing in the top ten with $2,733 raised. With over 30 students diving into books, their enthusiasm is contagious.

It’s not just the kids getting involved, more older Australians are joining the Readathon than ever before, proving that the love of reading truly knows no age limit. A Wembley Primary School spokesperson summed it up perfectly:

“By combining the joy of reading with a cause that changes lives, our students have once again proven that young people can make an incredible impact.”

Huge congratulations to all the students, families, staff and grown-up readers – who made this year’s Readathon unforgettable. You’ve shown that when we read, fundraise and dream big – anything is possible!
