If you’re caring for someone living with a neurological condition, you may occasionally feel the need for a break.

If you’re being cared for, you may want your carer to take some time off to rest and recharge, while you have a break from your normal routine.

MSWA offers two purpose-built, accessible respite homes, providing 24/7 supports, where you can take a break safely and comfortably.

Our respite homes, located in City Beach and Treendale (Australind), are built to meet the needs of people living with neurological conditions, including those with high-care needs. They are a ‘home-away-from-home’, comfortably appointed with on-site 24/7 care and support and home-cooked meals.

MSWA trained care support workers staff our respite homes and are experienced in supporting people living with neurological conditions.

Most Clients accessing our respite homes will stay for one or two weeks, or longer depending on needs. Funding to cover your stay may be available through the Commonwealth Carer Respite Program or through your Department of Communities - Disability Services or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) individual package. Self-funded respite is also available.

Australind – Treendale Gardens

This 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom, purpose-built home is situated at the gateway to WA’s magnificent South-West region, and provides personalised care in a peaceful, back-to-nature setting.

Treendale Gardens also offers a three-bedroom self-contained family unit.

If you’re a carer needing a break, you can relax knowing your loved one will be well cared for. Treendale is a safe, well-equipped residence run by MSWA trained staff who understand the needs of people living with neurological conditions.

Or, if you’d like to take a break with your loved one, Treendale Gardens' self-contained family unit offers everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. Enjoy a break in this home-away-from-home supported by our on-site staff if required.

Next to nature and community

Treendale is located on the edge of a peaceful parkland reserve along the shore of a picturesque lake. With wheelchair-friendly paths meandering through the reserve, the park is accessible for our residents to explore and enjoy.

Another wheelchair-accessible path leads to the local Junction Shopping Centre, the heart of the Treendale community.

City Beach – Margaret Doody House

This 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom house, located in City Beach, is close to shopping centres, the beach, and local transport.

The facility includes communal lounges, dining and an outside courtyard. Margaret Doody House is fully wheelchair accessible, equipped with the comforts of home, and offers residents a warm, friendly environment to relax and enjoy the quiet surrounds.

Staff are experienced in supporting people with high-care needs.
