A number of MSWA Customers with communication difficulties will soon be able to trial a device which will assist them to communicate more effectively, thanks to a generous $20K donation from Pharmacy 777.

While communication is vital in almost all aspects of daily life, and often taken for granted, it’s something many people living with a neurological condition require extra aids and assistance with. Speech loss can also be experienced.
The device, the NeuroNode Trilogy communication system, enables the user to access a computer and mobile phone to generate speech, send text messages and email, manage environmental controls and more.
CEO Marcus Stafford AM said he was grateful for the generous support from Pharmacy 777.
“It’s the everyday things such as sending a quick text message, or browsing the internet that we take for granted,” said Mr Stafford.
“The use of this device will help our Customers communicate with family and friends who aren’t able to on their own, due to their condition.”
The NeuroNode Trilogy adheres to the skin above a chosen muscle site. When the user attempts to move that muscle, the NeuroNode Trilogy detects bioelectrical (EMG) signals, even if there is no visible muscle movement, and uses these signals to allow the user to control a computer or communication device.
Pharmacy 777 Managing Director, Kim Brotherson, said the Pharmacy 777 Group was proud to provide MSWA speech therapists access to the device.
“Supporting this remarkable technology will make a difference to the lives of patients with limited speech and movement and how they communicate and connect. We are honoured to help make this difference happen,” said Mr Brotherson.
MSWA speech therapists are trained to use the device, to ensure our Customers are provided with access to trial this life-altering means of communication. The device may be funded through the NDIS if approved.
