Lymphoedema: The importance of looking after your legs
Lymphoedema: The importance of looking after your legs
Join our 6-week education series focused on health, exercise, and symptom management for people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Each Thursday from 5-6pm, MSWA Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists will present practical strategies to help you move better and feel stronger.
Swelling in the legs is a common and often overlooked issue for individuals with mobility impairments. This presentation will explore why swelling occurs, explaining what happens beneath the skin—such as fluid buildup due to poor circulation and lymphatic drainage. Importantly, we’ll cover practical management strategies, including positioning, compression, skin care, and exercise options. Finally, we’ll highlight why consistent long-term care is essential to maintain leg health and overall well-being. Join us to discover more!
This session will be hosted by MSWA Senior Physiotherapist, Kim Jahnig.
