MS appears most commonly in young adulthood, with most people diagnosed between 20 and 40 years of age.  However, MS has been known to make its first appearence in early childhood or after the age of sixty.

A few quick facts:

  • MS affects women three to four times more frequently than men
  •  An estimated 2,500,000 people are living  with MS worldwide
  •  2-5% of people living with MS are children
  • The condition affects up to 21,000 Australians with 1000 new cases diagnosed annually
  • In Western Australia approximately 16 people are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis each month
