Beechboro

Located on Amazon Way Beechboro, this purpose built community centre opened in 2003 and is home to two Outreach Groups.  One group caters for those mainly in the northern metropolitan corridor (“Northside” on Fridays) and one for the eastern metropolitan corridor (“Eastside” on Mondays).

It is essential that prior assessment and referral to the group is arranged through the Community Nurses on 9365 4888.  This ensures that the necessary requirements for the individual can be met and reduces overcrowding.

Services available at this location include:

  • A physiotherapy gym:  where assessments and individual plans are devised and a program and other groups are conducted.  Access to these services is arranged through the Physiotherapy Manager on 9365 4834.  For further information click here.
  • Massage: an important service for members is subsidised by our fundraising and is available at a significantly reduced cost to financial Members.  Please contact the Physiotherapy Department for more information.
  • Outreach Groups:  partly funded by the Disability Services Commission, these groups run on Monday and Friday and provide socialisation, recreation and some entertainment opportunities (including outings) with morning tea and lunch in a supported environment.  If you would like more information about attending, please contact the Community Access Nurse on 9365 4888.
  • Programs:  when there is demand for more local program delivery, Beechboro can be used for support groups and programs such as the Fatigue Self-Management program.  Please request more information through the Health Team or the Society’s switchboard on 9365 4888.
  • Immunotherapy training and follow up support can be made available by appointment with the nursing team, if appropriate.  To arrange an immunotherapy appointment with a nurse, please call 9365 4888.
  • Appointments with visiting health professionals:  for those Members attending the Centre, appointments can be made to see the Nurse or other health professionals during the Outreach Group session.  Please contact the relevant staff through the Society’s switchboard on 9365 4888 or through the Group Coordinator on 9377 7800 if you are already attending the group.
