Flexible Respite Program

The Flexible Respite Program assists carers of people with disabilities (including those with MS) with the provision of time limited support to cater for fluctuating needs. This program aims to provide quality support opportunities for the person with the disability while giving the carer a break.

The types of respite available are flexible in order to meet the particular individual needs and preferences of the person with a disability and their carer:

• In home respite offers skilled support staff to assist with personal care in accordance with the individual’s care plan while the carer is away from home.
• Residential respite is provided in purpose-built homely facilities where individuals can stay for up to 1 to 2 weeks, with access to 24 hour per day support.
• Centre based respite offers a range of activities within a friendly supported environment.
