Respite

The MS Society is able to offer a range of respite options for individuals to receive the support that they need while giving the family carer a break from their caring role.

The Margaret Doody Respite House in City Beach is a five bedroomed house which is staffed on a 24 hour basis. The House is accessible, air conditioned throughout and can accommodate five people. The length of stay is usually 1 to 2 weeks and a daily charge is levied to cover food and laundry.

The Society also can fund some flexible short-term respite opportunities in your home while the carer is away, or at one of our Centres. Centre based respite can be either residential or day time support.
