Seminars are regularly held in order to provide education to people newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, regarding the disease process associated with multiple sclerosis, to discuss the emotional and physical reactions and problems that may be encountered, to inform people of the services provided by the Society and to provide an opportunity for people to meet Society staff.

The Society’s Welfare Officer identifies the social welfare needs of Members and can provide financial counselling, budgetary assistance and information regarding social security benefits to Members.

The Welfare Officer also prepares and submits Members applications to the Lotteries Commission and other funding agencies for equipment and other financial assistance and assists Members in financial crisis.

Society Loans And Grants service, coordinated by the Welfare Officer, responds to Member’s requests for financial assistance. A full assessment is made of a Member’s financial situation is undertaken.
